C.V.14. Poem by GRANT FRASER

C.V.14.

Rating: 5.0

Dear Art,

I wish a dead God
would carry me up,
with lock & key,
imprisoned,

But to uselessly ponder,
must have done
something seriously
wrong in past life..

Maybe even stolen
raped or murdered,
but past lives
are not to be recalled,

Make me a dog next
time then,
or a gnat, elephant,
mollusc, crab,
a virus even -

Yes a giant invisible
tide stalking the air,

waiting to smother!

In fact just strike me down,
or throw me to the dogs!

Yes if only human "love",
swarmed over everything -
like this,

"In one fell swoop! "

An acerbic commentary on those who are driven by their blind faith. Thanks for this objective portrayal.
