By The Thames As Late September Night Falls Poem by Shaun William Hayes

By The Thames As Late September Night Falls

Rating: 5.0

The Thames is very still

Splashes of light from houses with no curtains

Silent swans, ghost gliding out of the shadows

Erratic bats darting in and out of view round nearby trees

Natures end of summer hush, preparing for what is to come

The river itself a quietly brooding dark mirror.
