Butterfly's Life Poem by Paul Sebastian

Butterfly's Life

BUTTERFLY'S LIFE
A poem by Paul Sebastian

Born as an ugly caterpillar
Grew as a plant-devourer
Receded Into self-weaved cocoon closet
Shedding my old, I transformed in secret

There, God's love recreated me
From pupa into thing of beauty
Shaped as a sweet young thing
Six-legged angel with soft wings

In my long metamorphosis summer
I was sculptured as heavenly cheer
To flit and to hover over God's creation
To feed on nectar; to work in pollination

God designed to dress me prettily
Adored, likened to woman's beauty
Welcomed morn's angel of the valley
Being transformed, to live my destiny

God's Eden's creation: I am a butterfly
I dance over flowers, kiss them cheerily
Greet each day's Eden-dawn happily
Transformed, one can live worthily
