By His Love Poem by Paul Sebastian

By His Love

God-promised Prince of Peace has come
Parents still gift children swords and guns
Christ has come to show Father's love
Yet man, still in discord, has love shoved

God chose to love first
Even, as we were sinners
Promised the blind would see
Captives would be set free
The deaf would hear
Our deliverance was near
That the lame would walk
Build His Church on a Rock
Yet, man stood blind and naïve
Whilst He's the Way, Truth and Life

Christ came to give freely new life
Man chose to live a life of strive
Christ gave new life in the Spirit
Yet, man resisted receiving it
To love God is to keep His word
God would live in him, if obeyed
Yet man rejected Him
Went on to crucified Him
For they ‘know not what they do'
Yet God forgave; He remained true

Christ came to pay a ransom cost
To save the condemned and lost
His Body broken for love communion
His Blood shed for sins to be forgiven

By His love
By His grace
By His fellowship
We have become His children
