But, What's In A Name?

Rating: 5.0

A romance, it started on the streets.
Together every night, life was a dream.
Months go by and nothing's the same.
Two people have changed, all but the name.

A lost little boy, wondering the land.
He's been a man for two years, but still doesn't understand.
Floating in a fantasy world of games and flight,
Alone on the streets, but that's alright.

A lonely, broken girl at such a tender age,
Just starting life; adulthood is so strange.
Living in reality from way too young,
The streets are her home, the past is out wrung.

On a bond of homeless perversion,
These two lovers met.
In the dark of the night,
Togetherness was a safety net.

Time goes by, and he makes her sad.
In her sadness, she makes him mad.
Passion turns to fury, and love to pain,
After these bruises, she's never the same.

Promises broken; a lie made true.
So ashamed now, to have been with you.
Together they stay, by together they're not.
This broken heart bleeds, to scab, to rot.

A romance, it started on the streets.
Together every night, life was a dream.
Months go by and nothing's the same.
Two people have changed, all but the name.
