But I Will Let It Not Poem by Ellen Kang

But I Will Let It Not

I have a frown that wants to smile,
Tears that want to stop,
A body that wants to warm up,
A heart that wants to beat.

But I will let it not.

I have eyes that want to see,
Light that wants to enter,
Arms that want to reach out.

But I will let it not.

A voice that wants to scream,
A soul that wants to reach out.

But I will let it not.
