But I Kept You Alive Within Me Poem by Amitava Sur

But I Kept You Alive Within Me

Rating: 4.8

Since you abandoned and left me alone,
So helplessly I'm wandering, being undone.

Crying aloud and shedding tears and searching all around,
Nowhere I can find you nor I can hear your faintest voice.

My sorrows and strife made me so morbid and dry
That I am turned to a clone of mine,

Now, I remain so silent and hushed,
I cannot shed anymore tears even, so desiccated now I am!

You may have forbidden me
But I still kept you alive within me though.

I kept your image engraved and fixed
By tattooing it my heart and mind.

Wherever you remain now
Stay jubilant and merrily you spend your days.

Finding a little time to spare from your present busy schedule,
Send me a little sparkle of your smile through that mild breeze please.

I'll live my life being enthused with that precious smile of yours
By keeping it alive rejoicing within me.

If you can feel me now even you'll find -
I'm still owning that fire of vibrant love for you, my beloved.

Being forlorn and left in a silent corner,
I'll still await you.

I'll be waiting endlessly for you ever
Until we two souls meet again.

Love and loss are complementary. Loved this poem of unrequited love. Feelings seem to be original. 'I am turned to a clone of mine' - an expression that adequately describes the consequence of lost love.

Another outstanding poem regarding love, Little One! Yes, your love for Rakhee will continue forever through the poems you write. I see an image of Rakhee reading this poem, having a beautiful smile on her face while reading it. Very intense and graceful, a poem of blessing for sure. Thank you for sharing your loving heart in this poem with us. 10 x 10's! ! ! ! RoseAnn
