Bulletproof Love Poem by Jacob Biehl

Bulletproof Love

Rating: 4.5

My love for you was bulletproof.
I still remember where it all went wrong,
I was suspicious, you were aloof,
but you would sing your siren's song.
You would reel me back,
and whisper in my ear these wonderful things.
But then my life line would again go slack,
as your melancholy chorus would you not sing.

Remembering now I just want to go back to sleep,
I didn't see you barbed teeth or sickly claws,
I know I can't, but I wanna just weep,
for loving your many flaws.
That's what i get when my heart wins,
the knife all the more becomes deep.
You yourself are the darkest sin.

I don't know why you let me bleed,
I don't know what I did or didn't do.
Hatred and pain into me did you seed,
who would breed such evil unto you?
Into your clutches was I lured.
You would toy with my heart and mind,
then like a pig, I was skewered.
to end my cruel bind.

From it all, only can I surmise,
you wanted my soul to take,
and wouldn't stop till I meet my demise.
Oh, weren't you a pretty fake?
My love for you was bullet proof,
but your the one who shot me!
I was crushed under your burning hoof,
and if you'd truly like to see...

I'll write your name with a pen filled with my blood.
But you won't survive when karma brings the flood.
