Brumbies Poem by Ima Ryma

Brumbies

Wild bush horses, Brumbies, we be,
Calling the Australian Alps home,
Living out our lives carefree,
The many bands of us do roam,
Avoiding as much as we can,
The dangers lurking all around,
Brought about by the hand of man.
So far we have held our ground.
For centuries we've lived this way,
Banding together one and all,
Looking forward to each new day,
Following our nature's call.

With each sunrise, with each sunset,
We gallop on with no regret.
