Broken Promise



tears on my cheeks
pain in my heart
your never coming back

flowers on your casket
peace over your body
emptiness in your eyes

broken promises linger in the air
the silence stabs me in the back
goodbye leaves a dirty taste in my mouth

you said you would come home
you promised me you lied to me
you said you would come back to me
