Broken Dreams

My dreams fall around me,
I reach for them.
But they are out of reach.
The mistakes surround me,
The suffocate me.
I watch each one,
Wishing them away.
Tears fall down my face,
I hang my head in shame.
I ask myself this question:
Why did I let myself go?
