Broken Poem by Sheila Papaleo

Broken

Rating: 4.4

A long-breaking heart has been broken,
No more painful words can be spoken,
No longer will I wait for you,
There’s nothing left for me to do…
Another love has taken my place,
Never again shall I see your face,
Nor hold you tightly in my arms,
Nor feel the warmth of your many charms…
The future is not looking bright,
And as I lie awake at night,
I find myself wanting it all to end,
I’ve lost my love and my best friend…
No one I can turn to now,
And I have no idea how,
I’ll make it through another day,
Now that you have gone away…
I’m grieving but I can’t find the tears,
Which have come so easily over the years,
Yet now on this, my darkest night,
There are no piteous tears in sight…
But there is something that I feel I should say,
Heaven knows I didn’t want it end this way,
You’ve taken my heart, to you a cheap token,
And you’ve left me here completely broken…
