Broken Poem by Marla Smith

Your heart lies broken ~~ As you see everything fall apart ~~ The only one who loved you ~~ Left you in the dark ~~ They were the light in your world ~~ That has now faded ~~ You were the one that made me whole ~~ But instead ~~You tore my heart open ~~ I had to sew myself shut ~~ I thought you were there for me ~~ But I guess you were right ~~ I should have listened to you ~~ My heart is pined up to a wall ~~ As I try and heal those cuts shut ~~ All you say and do ~~ Is tear my heart in two ~~ I know part of me will still be with you ~~ All I know is that I can move on ~~ Given the life I have ~~ All I have to do is except it ~~ And improve it ~~ With the love I have in my heart ~~ The love that surrounds me ~~ The love of ~~ Friends ~~ Family ~~ You don’t know what a great chance ~~ You have missed out on ~~ You have missed out on a great person ~~ And a great friend ~~ Who could have been there for you ~~ Your just the type of person I can live without.
