Breaking Out Of Denial Poem by Henrik Haugstrup

Breaking Out Of Denial

Tonight!

My eyes they have betrayed
Saw something, to unreal
Beyond my understanding
Something that ripped me apart

My ears they have done me wrong
The words I could not comprehend
They came devastation my weak heart
and left me with nothing

But could it all just be a lie?
Because this all keeps me in denial
The dream, the smile, never can I be like that again.
The child, the hope, left forever hollow, drowing in sorrow.

So tonight; I will drink
Hope to blow the brain out
So the heart can speak free

And today; My throughts is all about you
Why; Why would hurt me so bad?
All there is left in me is hope and pain
Hoping that the pain will fade away.

But could it all just be a lie?
Because this all keeps me in denial
The dream, the smile, never can I be like that again.
The child, the hope, left forever hollow, drowing in sorrow.

Questioning my sanity
For my dreams are all the same
A smile for me is just a throught away
Because I still remember our laughs

The days; they pass slow
With you, in my mind
Your eyes, a place like heaven for me.

But could it all just be a lie?
Because this all keeps me in denial
The dream, the smile, never can I be like that again.
The child, the hope, left forever hollow, drowing in sorrow.
