Blue Eyed Hopes Poem by Asma Khan

Blue Eyed Hopes

This burden is so heavy to carry
there is no point left to be merry

There is a burning enigma of shattered hopes in me
that sets all dreams free

The world sees a part of me
who can look beyond the deep blue sea?

I crave the hunger to be cared
if not him, death may come and I'm prepared

How so true to be fortunate and successful
Is your departure in my life blissful?

The time is hard to keep and a fine line
by lonely walls, I have to confine

Dreams come with a price always
but I couldn't find you in my doorways

My soul is torn within
the sorrows and scars are wrapped in

I am not hopeless of finding you at all
though your name is missing from this wall

I wish I could own what I wanted
to all these prayers, my Lord has always responded

I guess you must have read each word by now
embrace me in your heart forever and not just for now!
