Blue Chameleon Room Poem by Aria Ellen

Blue Chameleon Room

I needed a reason
To get up this morning
With the grated sun
Scratching against the sky
I saw the scrapes
From my lazy resting place
All rooted and rumpled up.

My feet touched the floor
My legs were blurred and smooth
My eyes were raw and red-freckled
My heart was uprooted
And thrown to the morning mud
My hope to the world
That someone would come to regret it.

I needed you before now
When the only one who really left me
Was God,
And my blue chameleon room
Remained silent and reproachful.
