Blood [song Lyrics]; Copyrighted - Jennifer Hanners

God I’ve been hit and you took your best shot. Doesn’t hurt ‘cause it happens over and over.
I’ve been asleep and unable to move. It’s like I’ve been drunk and I’m finally sober.

Stay away from my blood.
Stay away from my blood.

1st verse:
Blood is on my face and I can taste it.
Just another day inside my life.
Don’t touch it. It’s my war paint. And I don’t wanna waste it.
For once, you may not win a fight.

You can touch my arm and say you’re sorry.
I don’t really feel you anymore.
You can touch my hand and say it won’t happen again.
Hate you as you knock me to the floor.

Chorus:
Stay away from my scars. They remind me that I’ve had enough.
You cut me. I let you cut me.
But you will never touch my blood.

2nd verse:
He’s shaking in the corner. I can see him.
Just another day inside his life.
And it’s time that I protect him.
From the fire I see growing in his eyes.

You can touch his head and say you’re sorry.
I don’t think he knows just what to say.
You can touch my hand and say it won’t happen again.
Hate you as you turn and walk away.

Chorus:
Stay away from my scars. They remind me that I’ve had enough.
You cut me. I let you cut me.
But you will never touch my blood.

Bridge:
I’ve been crying out for so long. My walls they must be deaf.
I know they don’t believe that I will leave. Or take a step.
But I’m ready to go.
Let me go.
I wanna go.
Let me go.

God I’ve been hit and you took your best shot. Doesn’t hurt ‘cause it happens over and over.
I’ve been asleep and unable to move. It’s like I’ve been drunk and I’m finally sober.

Away… away…stay away from my blood.
Away away…you will never touch my blood. I can see clearly now, the rain is gone.
