Bliss Poem by Sumana Sarkar

Bliss

Looking For Redemption
Long after you have past these days
May be some day when you rummage through my files
When I am old or gone, my memory failing
It's for that moment my darling
Nothing's more special than your smile when you wake up
Nothing's more overwhelming than your hug
As your tiny fingers wrap around my neck
I whisper a small thank you to the Almighty God
And you gurgle with a knowing nod...
Suddenly in the middle of a night when I wake up
Your tiny legs resting on my hands is so reassuring
As you lie on my lap & look towards me smiling
I can't help but wonder how special a blessing you are
You are indeed my Ark, my little star in your shining chariot
