Blind Pt.3 - Over Poem by Voldo Shiiva

Blind Pt.3 - Over

A disposition, a preconception
An effective lie to fool ourselves
That what we wish were real
Is...

And yet we know
That things never stay the same
They change, contorting and bending
Like the lie that began it all...

And it falls to us to face
The ones we love, and the lie
Created out of desperate wanting
To keep what little hope we have alive
That our dreams aren't fiction
And the ones we love not ghosts
Hiding in the smile of a stranger we never knew
Who was nothing like the silhouette inside the dream...

But after a while you realise the lie
And the ghost behind the smile, the mask
Are what make reality unbearable
And our ambition to dream so inviting
But who are we to decide for others
How to live their lives?
Who are we to play God?
We are nothing but fools dancing over the boundaries of reality...

And so we collide fiction and the morning
Of reality beginning, becoming a misery
To release from the world, ourselves
And fall in love with the lie inside the dreams...

It's not until you realise, and reconnect with reality
That you see what you have become, a liar
And what others have always been, strangers
Absent from the dream that was never welcome in reality...

Another week, another unwanted truth
The one you love now a stranger
The dream once a painting now decays
And lays in the tears of my hoping unmade...

I had dreamed of you my angel, no more
Too many times disappointed, too much heartache
You have collapsed my feelings, I regret falling...

I had waited, I had wanted, I longed for you
But my thoughts of you have all begun failing
And my dreaming of you is over...
