Bless My Eyes Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Bless My Eyes

Bless my eyes the truth I’ve seen
The living Christ on whom I lean
God’s secret things I now behold
Salvation’s truth more pure than gold

Bless my eyes to see this day
The living God who’s on His way
With heart and soul His bride awaits
In light she’ll rise through Heaven’s gates

Bless my eyes I see the cloud
To praise my God I cry aloud
Christ Jesus comes just as He said
He’ll call the quick and raise the dead

Bless my eyes I see His face
His loving eyes so full of grace
As tears of joy roll down my cheek
I hear His voice “Come forth the meek”

Bless my eyes I see the doors
In Christ the Lord my spirit soars
Our hands now meet my heart takes flight
Now all is clear I see the Light

Bless my eyes I see the host
The Holy Flame and Jesus’ Ghost
My spirit leaps I’ve nought to say
Bless my eyes to see this day

Bless my eyes as now they greet
The sight of holes in hands and feet
My Jesus smiles I hear Him say
“It was of you! I thought that day”

Bless my eyes I see life’s book
“Yes my child I’ve had a look
I’m pleased to see your name’s inside
Come join me now my precious bride”
