Black Widow (Blues Song) Poem by William McGehee

Black Widow (Blues Song)

Oh baby, I'm asking the question, Why?
Oh baby, where does that heart of yours lie?
It seems like I'm missing the answers you're givin'
It seems like I'm caught in the webs you've been spinning...

Again.

Black widow, invisible thread
Black widow with poisonous tongue
Black widow, you're up in my head
Black widow, my heart has been stung

Black widow, my heart has been stung.

Oh baby, I thought I was free from the pain.
But baby, that's all just a part of your game
It seems like your venom still has me all trippin'
It seems your grip now won't ever be slippin'...

Again.

Slippin' again.

Black widow, invisible thread
Black widow with poisonous tongue
Black widow, you're up in my head
Your trap has been sprung
And my heart has been stung
Now It's beating, it's beating
And you keep repeating
And I keep on feeding
On, I keep on needing...

The lies from your poisonous tongue.

It certainly reads like a song and a good song at that! ! ! I am a fan of repetition and rhymes in a song and a poem. Good work!
