Black Reign Poem by Dashaun Rashod Snipes

Black Reign

Rating: 5.0

In the land of injustice and pain
Where the sun refused to shine
Came a voice, a hope, a change
A reign that stood the test of time
Through the echoes of slavery and chains
Rose leaders in all shades of black
Their bravery, their strength and their names
Became a legacy that we cannot lack
Harriet Tubman, a beacon of light
Leading slaves to freedom's door
Her courage, her fight, her might
Forever in our hearts, she shall soar
Martin Luther King, the king of dreams
His voice thundered, his words shook the ground
With peace and love, he reign supreme
His legacy, in our hearts, shall resound
Malcolm X, a symbol of pride
His charisma, his passion, his flame
He fought for justice, side by side
And in his reign, the oppressed were reclaimed
Nelson Mandela, a symbol of resilience
Imprisoned yet never defeated
His fight for equality, a symbol of brilliance
His reign as a leader, forever undefeated
Their stories, their struggles, their reign
Has paved the way for generations to come
Their memories, forever they'll remain
In the black history, their legacy will forever thrum
For they reigned supreme, against all odds
Their spirits, forever they'll reign
In our hearts, in our souls, in our minds
In the story of black reign
So let us remember, let us never forget
Their sacrifices, their courage, their might
For in their reign, we shall never be met
With defeat, for their legacy shines bright
Black reign, a symbol of strength
Of hope, of love and of pride
For in the memories of these leaders, we're linked
Their reign, forever by our side.
