Bittersweet Poem by James W. Spain

Bittersweet

Rating: 5.0

You could hear the sound
of the gently falling snow

late this Christmas day
as the last of the light dimmed.

A visit with my ancestors
and my memories of old Christmas days

as vivid in my mind
as the snow covered stones before me.

Sentiments so strong
even after many years these

emotions that will remain deeply
in my mind and in my heart.

Cherished more than most
items that others would value and

never to be forgotten
but always there with me on this special day.

You could hear the sound
of the gently falling snow.
