Better In Black And White Poem by Cora Lee

Better In Black And White

She looks better in black and white,
reality sets in, she looks away in fright.
Color, oh endless reds and pales,
just another road she runs and then fails.
Blacks and blues, She'll never heal,
her heart is broken, and she'll never feel.
Violent waves of heat and panic,
she keeps going, although shes frantic.
Black and white, no one will ever see,
all the colors that are always on me.
The teasing eyes, she'll never get rid,
all of her life, shes been put up to bid.
Crossing the line, as she turns from left to right,
no black or white, all color, she can no longer fight.
Folding her arms across her head,
praying for black in white instead,
of color, that washes her white cheeks,
no wonder why she is always so weak.
She covers her eyes, and inhales deeply,
only pausing to think about this briefly.
She breaks free, and returns to black and white,
knowing, that this is her one and only right.
