Betrayal Poem by Daniel Parker

Betrayal

Rating: 5.0

Betrayed and lonely, pain inside,
Spending nights alone,
I put my trust in you, you lied,
My mind's in the unknown,
You told me that you'd be the one,
To make my dreams come true,
All the happy thoughts are gone,
I'm done with missing you,

A fire burns within my chest,
A flame that roars with might,
Love is but a fatal quest,
One that blinds the sight,
You told me we were meant to be,
Forever and a day,
So why set out to murder me?
Broken, hurt I lay,

The times of old have passed it seems,
The memories of glee,
You stole my heart, my hopes, my dreams,
So stupid not to see,
So here I stand, betrayed and hurt,
I'll never find me peace,
You dragged me kicking, through the dirt,
But now it has to cease,

The heart is stronger than the mind,
It bears the brunt of pain,
Betrayal is the hardest kind,
It drives the heart insane,
