Beside You Poem by Aimee Rozen

Beside You

The stars are beautiful tonight;
don't you agree?
From what I can see of your face
flickering in the firelight
you are beautiful...
to me.
I hardly even know you.
You hardly even know me,
yet, here I am
pouring out my soul.
My identity is not lost on you.
I want nothing more
than to kiss those sun-chapped lips
and feel your rough hands
sliding over my skin.
I think all of this
as you gaze
blissfully unaware.
But I'm not easy
in anyone's eyes but my own.
I lay here beside you
and wish your fingers
would find mine.
