Benazir Poem by Francis Duggan

Benazir

The seeds of good in life she tried to sow
But for every friend she made she made a foe
In Nature's cool and dark bosom she now does lay
But she did not deserve to die in such a way
The person who took her life was a sad misguided man
But Benazir will live forever as a legend of Pakistan
In a thousand years from this day the story will be told
Of Pakistan's most revered woman who did not live to grow old
Benazir was a good person she was one who did mean well
And how her death will affect the people of Pakistan time itself will only tell
Of the tragedy of her passing the sad memories remain
But if it brings about a healing her death will not have been in vain
The bullets of an assassin brought an end to her life span
But she will be mourned by the millions who did love her in her beloved Pakistan.
