Beholden To Another Poem by Sakib Choudhury

Beholden To Another

You have sworn in the eyes of god
And in front of our fellow man
That you are beholden to another
For all this life and the next
Yet i know you would not care for him
The way you would care for me
If we had been together before him

Thinking deception has taken form
In that beautiful majestic mind of yours
For you think him to be a good husband
But alas deep down in your gracious heart
You know happiness cannot be achieved
Because you do not love him that way

I know what your heart is screaming
With every beat passing by like a ticking clock
I implore you with every sorrow look in my eyes
To listen to what your bosom is telling you
For i alone can hear the pain and suffering
And it is killing me slowly inside
Churning my insides to into bile in my throat
