Behold… Poem by Dr John Celes

Behold…

Behold the holy cross that Jesus bore,
On which he died to pay the bloody price
For mankind’s sins and open heaven’s door
For sinners penitent who give up vice!

Behold the hand of God that guides the souls
Of righteous people writ upon his palm;
God made them each and gave them special roles,
And brings to stormy seas of life, a calm.

Behold the love of God that rains down grace,
On all who ask and plead for his commune;
Much brighter than a thousand suns, God’s face,
Has wrath when man does not dance to his tune.

Behold the joy in heaven when a saint
Is born and made as per the will of GOD;
So many legions of devils will faint
As souls are freed from hell’s pit and its rod.
