Behind A Smile Poem by Christina de Vries

Behind A Smile

Rating: 3.5

Alone by a tree there's a girl with flowers in her hair

People passes and one of her biggest fears

Is that no one will ever see her there

No one will ever notice her tears

A little boy sits alone in the sand

He seems happy as he plays with his car

But he's hiding from that unfriendly hand

Wanting to fly away oh so far

The biggest smile on the woman's face

Behind the laugh is a broken soul

The wish for a better place

Scared of never again become whole

Some wounds hides deep within

Too hard for anyone to see

Some scars doesn't show on skin

To judge complete strangers, how dare we?

Instead of frowns, lend them your eyes

Lend out your heart and offer your hand

It could do you good, make you wise

And with time and trust you might understand
