Beginning Of An End Poem by Elizabeth Castleberry

Beginning Of An End

Standing dead still in the rain
Drenched in the pain.
Why does the world have a rain motif?
A dropp falls from the leaf
Onto my tear.
The feeling on my skin
Seems familiar deep within.
It's no consolation
That it's the same sensation
As if the touch was his.
Shoulder blades glistening
While every molecule is listening,
As time streams by,
For that last outcry.
One final scream of anguish
Full of emotions immense!
And then silence.
But for now, just waiting
And daring to start hoping
For peace after this beginning of an end.
