If only we could find a way
to say what afterthought
too late inspires us to say,
wordtapestries we’ve wrought
might last a thousand years or more
with tones forever bright,
for threads that afterthoughts restore
provide delayed delight
that’s greater than the thrill that comes
before we find the mot
that’s juste as kid-corrected sums,
just right and not de trop,
yet, though what’s said before the after-
thought is less inspired,
whatever words provoke some laughter
may briefly be admired.

I would like to translate this poem
very thoughtful, love the line, 'yet, though whats said before the after thought is less inspired.' this line is a negative line but you turn it around with the next line 'whatever words provoke some laughter may brightly be admired' the negative-positive play on words brings it to a nice closure for the poem.
