*because Of Me* Poem by Chloe Coleman

*because Of Me*

Rating: 2.6

Broken glass and shattered lives
these words you hurl at me like knives
Each words rips at my heart
every insult a poisoned dart.

My ripped up heart tattered and broken
I stand alone my words unspoken.
he tricked and lied, he is now exposed
my heart once open, now is closed.

But now that ignorance at last has fled,
something greater is there instead.
Something stronger, greater, the new me
I'll prepare myself and then he'll see.

for, here and now the line is drawn
He'll find me waiting with the dawn.
He'll find that daggers now replaced,
he'll see a sword tied to my waist.

I won't be broken by him this time
I'll make sure that he pays his crime.
He can't beat me, he won't know how.
for this I give my solemn vow.

I will win, can't you see!
he will lose
because
of
me.

Revenge is sweet! As I read your poem those three words kept ringing in my head. Great poem, you have a mighty way with words. I hope that sword tied to your waist is as strong as your pen.
