Because, Because Poem by Delaney Rose

Because, Because

Whip me around
Try to tear me up, break me
Throw me off, dropp me to the ground
You didn’t make me
Shove me in the water
Watch as I drown
You won’t hear my cries.
I was put where I was because, because
Because… well, I don’t know why
But I am where I am
And there I will stand, waving
As you walk by
Yes, I am where I am,
And even then - You can’t cut me down, but why?
I’ll only stand where I stand
And land where I am:
Reaching out for the sky
