Alas, a day has come and gone
Another day will soon be born
But before then the night must reign
Over sunshine and over rain
Over all creatures it casts a spell
Though some resist it, even myself
With little or no light from the moon
All fall deep into sleep, soo soon
Then begins the mystery of the night
The true existence of new life
The cycles by which life survives
The power by which death revives
The lucky few watch in amazement
As the night undergoes enchantment
Mesmerized by its forbidden beauty
And wishing it their own deity
But soon comes another day
For the night is not here to stay
Breaking the spell the night has cast
Which, quite fortunately, never lasts
