Beauty And The Beast By Meena Mustafa Poem by Meena Mustafa

Beauty And The Beast By Meena Mustafa

We all know the story of Beauty and the Beast

Here I was Beauty to some from the East

Who I thought would be my Prince Charming,

not knowing what would come

As he bowed to kiss me,

I knew he was dumb.

I was told I had to kiss many frogs in life

Before Prince Charming came and finally made it right

All I could see were these frogs croaking all the way

I was blind to their liking and wondered every day

May be some day it will happen when I will finally find my man

May be its just destiny, I will try as much as I can…

I am so glad to be out of that story as nothing good I recall

To some I will still be a Beauty, I don't want a beast at all

a fun poem..... enjoyed reading.... makes for a great write with and interwoven fairy tale... done with delicacy a tinge of sadness pervades the poem so much like life itself kudos :)

Hope you find your man Meena and that he is neither beast nor frog - very amusing write.
