Beauty And The Beast Poem by Farnood Jahangiri

Beauty And The Beast

He watches her on TV each night
marvelling at her dignity
With emerald eyes and golden hair
He cries out “what a beauty! ”

He feels ashamed at his coarse voice
And stares at his swarthy skin
Apologizes for his behaviour
And thinks “what a pity! ”

He doesn’t want to know that she is
In all these nights a Beast;
While he is the Beauty
Mirrored in her burned glasses;
With no longing to see.
