The sun continues to beam down
I slowly lie myself on the ground
I gaze up at the beautiful sky
Tears fill my eyes as I begin to cry
They run down my face like the river next to me
But unlike I, it can run free
I hear the birds sing their beautiful song
The melody flows through my ears, but not for long
The strong winds come hard, the clouds turn gray
All the animals hide but I chose to stay
I hear a crack of thunder and a quicker flash
Most people would expect me to dash
But I lay there and just cry
Looking up at the once beautiful sky…
The sun continues to beam down
I slowly lie myself on the ground
I gaze up at the beautiful sky
Tears fill my eyes as I begin to cry
They run down my face like the river next to me
But unlike I, it can run free
I hear the birds sing their beautiful song
The melody flows through my ears, but not for long
The strong winds come hard, the clouds turn gray
All the animals hide but I chose to stay
I hear a crack of thunder and a quicker flash
Most people would expect me to dash
But I lay there and just cry
Looking up at the once beautiful sky…
