Be Kind Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Be Kind

'Be kind to old ladies'
I said to my sons.
Elderly grandmothers
and unmarried ones.
Always respect them,
they have been young too
and could tell quite a story
of the life they've
been through.
Do give them a smile
and a wave of your hand.
Offer your help
whenever you can.
Take hold of their arm
And open the door...
Just be a gentleman
And you they'll adore.
Use all your charms
be courteous and kind.
May the world be
your oyster... I'm so
proud you are mine.
