Be Happy Poem by ANTHONY ANIGBATA

Be Happy

BE HAPPY.

No medicine is as potent as happiness
That cures the heart, soul and body
It brings us close to the door of wellness
Which sometimes medicine cannot give to the body.
All medications have some side effects.
And you aren't sure other things it affects.
But happiness, is devoid of after-effects
And adds years to our dwindling span.

So be happy, happy for the little things you have
Happy for the memories with family and friends.
Which are precious but we neglect
Happy for the problems which you have
Which are nothing but lessons to be learnt
O yes, it gives us experience we desire as humans
Be happy for the things you have
That are seemingly worthless
For to others, is worth a life.
Be happy for life, the dead knows it not
And for health, even if it's failing.

Be happy when in abundance you dwell.
Happy even when life's unfair hands touches you.
Happy during the freezing days of winter
And the friendly times of summer.

Happy for the plants around your abode
Happy you could see, the balmy rising sun
And the maidenly setting sun.
Oh be happy, please be happy.
You know not what you have
Until you see others wishing to be you.

We all lack it somehow
The pretty things of life
But what you currently neglect
Others wish they have
And that you sort, other have but
Are nothing more than troubles to their life.

So be happy, happiness cost no cent nor dollars
But drugs, will cost you a fortune.

Happiness springs from the soul,
If we give it a chance to sprout.
So be happy, be happy today and always.
