Bath For Bixby - Lincoln Park Zoo Poem by Ima Ryma

Bixby, eastern screech owl, does do
A take a shower exercise
Here at home in Lincoln Park Zoo.
Owls have good hygiene - no surprise!
The keepers turn on misters that
Give Bixby opportunity
To shower in her habitat.
Perched and spreading out her wings, she
Does give her feathers a good spray.
And when with showering she's done,
Bixby does simply fly away,
And then dries off under the sun.

A shower now and again, yup,
Is how Bixby gets owl cleaned up.
