Babe Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Babe

One step, two steps, three four five,
How great it is to be alive
And watch our lovely 'one year old'
Take tiny steps so sure and bold.

But whoops she's fallen - never mind,
She seems to be the sturdy kind.
Three steps, four steps, five six seven
A miracle that comes from heaven.

She's pretty as a babe could be
Forever gazing up at me.
Dad-da, ma-ma, na-na, too.
Baby talk, so cute and new.

If baby cries, then I feel low
All because I love her so.
I rush to sit her on my knee
And hold her body close to me.

When she waves her little arm
To say goodbye, with baby charm,
I worry not and I feel no pain
For I know I will see Babe again.
