B.C (Before Clare) Poem by Steve Woodward

B.C (Before Clare)

I write about you
Before I have met you
As if one day when you appear
Our paths align
Celestial.

My heart skips a beat
That you may bring breath to these verses
And flesh to the words
Chaos to my form
Life to the void.

To leave me reading you
Writing you.
Living each moment
Punctuated by kisses
And exclaimed by lust.

Have our love fill volumes
Of books written in blood
Like us.
Whenever we're opened
We are read.
