Awol Poem by Reed Dietiker

Awol

As I walked through my door
There was nothing but carpet on my floor
I saw my furniture sticking to my ceilings and footprints on the wall
I lost my mind, I thaught I had it all
Until I went Awol
Took one step inside and it all collapsed
Now I start my relapse
Picking up the pieces day by day
Hard to find the words to say
An allusion, maybe a sign?
The cold wind blowing unto his chapped face
Staring into distance, in to space
He begins to walk in the middle of fall
Once again going Awol
