Awakenings Poem by Brittany Marsh

Awakenings

Rating: 3.5

Im trapped in a world where my limbs are stuck,
my eyes are frozen.
Where'd I get this luck?
Some music affects me.
I have quick reflexes.
I don't know if you hear me
because inside I'm screaming.
Your medicine wont help me much
no matter the dosage.
Random bursts of life
since the miracle of mine
in the year of 1969.
'Leonard, oh Leonard. Dear miracle of mine. Its been so long since your eyes did shine.'
I'm sorry, my friend.
that time was my end.
Im paralyzed
'till the end of time.
So believe me when I tell you this
if it's me you so badly miss,
you'll know at once my nerves were alive.
I tried my hardest to live and thrive.
Day by day I sat there shaking,
under my skin, my bones were aching
from the quaking.
Maybe someday I'll receive a new slate.
Until then, I'm stuck in this catatonic state.

I hear you don't worry....I know exactly how you feel...I've read most of your poems and you are really really good.....I can relate to most of them....but I think that if anyone could help you it would be yourself......only you....know you.....you are your medicine....Keep writing I would love to read more! !
