Avoiding Depression Invasive Landmines Poem by Terence George Craddock

Avoiding Depression Invasive Landmines

Rating: 5.0

is it Friday the 13th again...
then why walk endless corridors
hiding from stray black cats
depression is invasive
can strike sudden indiscriminate
but we need not walk trail of landmines
enter fields vast stretches of landmines clearly marked
read the signs skull and bones warning keep out...

who can safely navigate...
landmine depression
without foot detonating
lethal force trap hidden
beneath innocent earth
camouflage deception hidden...

stop pause listen to reason...
best way path is listening to signs
obey warning do not enter
if stupidity necessity rules
forces resolution entry steps
next best thing is a good metal detector
or a trained dog or rat with a good nose
depression is as dangerous silent foe...

pervasive as land mines...
depression unseen land mines
both can cause injury or kill
anyone who steps on land mines
metal scares can be like losing a foot
nightmares pain but a sleep away...
