Atypical Poetry Poem by Heidi Brooks

Atypical Poetry

it's a painting of a woman's hips.
i don't know how my parents don't think i'm a little fruity.
i told them this was feminist art
and they believed me.
yes, it's feminist
in the same way that
burying my face in
between a woman's thighs
is female empowerment.
they call this "atypical poetry"
i just call it lust.
