Attention Monger Poem by Matthew Foor

Attention Monger

Voice crackling in my head
Ears bleeding nonsense
With each vowel spit
I've had enough of it
Needy….
He has to be heard
Greedy….
He must be noticed
Hand always waiving
Beckoning for an eye
Yearning for an ear
Words born from illiteracy
Mispronounced existence
Dirty nails
Nothing else pales
To the agony it brings
It never fails
