At night I close my eyes
I dream of happy things
I never wanna wake up
'Cuz I know what daylight brings

The sun brings illumination
But I don't wanna know
About this world of death and hate
where everyone's a foe

So I keep my eyes closed tight
I wish that I could sleep
All I want is to forget
All these secrets I must keep

But the sunlight pierces
the blackest hole
and shows the world
whats in my soul

It sees my wish
Of times before
back when I knew nothing
times that are no more

'cuz I opened my eyes
and I started to fall
Suddenly I knew too much
Though it was nothing at all

So why'd I keep asking?
Why'd I want to know?
About all the scars
that no one wanted to show?
