As the couple lay on the sand
The sun rose up from the horizon
Spraying a pliable warmth across the cold colourless sand
They both layed on the ground not saying a word
There was no uncomfortable silence
A bird started to sing from an old wooden fence atop a hill
Could only be heard by the couple on the sand
It was like time stood still as they sat and watched the sun
The ladies skin shivered as a chilly wind blew past them
Her partner comforted her by placing his coat over her shoulders
The couple looked out to the dreary sea as the sun continued to rise
As the couple lay on the sand
The couple never moved as they layed on the sand
Year after year the couple can still be seen laying there
They just look out to the sea and nothing more
Waiting, Waiting for someone or something
Looking out past the horizon
As the couple lay on the sand
